📖 Palabra - celu

You know how we shorten “cell phone” to “phone” in English? They do the same in Spanish! Instead of celular they say celu.

Now you'll sound like a true Argentinian!

No tengo mi celu. Está en casa.

🧉 Cultura - alfajores

We've talked about alfajores together. They're a rich dessert/cookie from Argentina. And guess what? I found some in Southern California!

Yup, this restaurant Villa Roma has a little market which sells Argentinian goods like alfajores. And I bought some for my family.

Turns out one of my favorite podcasts also recently released an episode about the different types of alfajores. Here's link below to listen on Spotify:

🗨️ Expresión - che

There are soo many different ways you can use this. The most common way I hear it or use it myself is to get someone's attention.

But there are plenty of other ways to use it and it's super common in Argentina. Here's a short blog post which explains them all:

🔗 Contenido - División Palermo

This is an Argentinian series (comedy) on Netflix that came out in February. It's about a group of folks who are supposed to protect their neighborhood.

It's fast-paced but it's definitely gonna make you laugh. I've only seen one episode so far, but I'm digging it.

Search for “Community Squad” or in Spanish, División Palermo.

💪🏼 Ejercicio - Transcribe a video

Yeah, so this one is tough. As tough as it sounds 😅

I tried it with the first 15-seconds of this clip and it was tough. Unfortunately this one doesn't have captions, but you can do an advanced search on YouTube and filter for videos with captions.
