📖 Palabra - boliche

It's like Argentinian's version of a discoteca, a club. And depending on the type of person you are and how you like to have fun, you'll probably end up at one when you're there.

Or you should at least go for the experience.

🧉 Cultura - Nightlife in Buenos Aires

When I lived in BA back in 2013, my friends and I were all about the nightlife. We'd stay out past 2am regularly. And it was fun! Lots of fun.

I haven't gone out in these cities, but I imagine it's similar to the nightlife in New York, LA, or any other big city.

Here's a video that gives you an ASMR-like experience as if you're experiencing BA nightlife. Bonus: you don’t have to stay up until 2am 😂 

🗨️ Expresión - bajar un cambio

I learned this one on my favorite podcast Hablo Argentino. You know in a stick-shift car you have gears which correspond to speed? Higher gears for driving faster, lower for slower.

Well, this is kinda like downshifting. You're doing a lot of things. Maybe you have too much on your plate. You need to bajar un cambio.

By now, Huberman Lab is mainstream, right? It's that Stanford professor guy who wears a black button-up and makes health, exercise and science fun to learn.

Kinda like a modern, more serious, more jacked Bill Nye. Well, it turns out Argentina has their own Huberman and his name is Dr. La Rosa.

If you're into self-help and that category of content, then you'll love Dr. La Rosa.

💪🏼 Ejercicio - Copywork this email

You ever heard of copywork? Well, it's a technique I learned from copywriting (studying it right now). And it's where you copy by hand someone else's writing as a way to learn.

This way, you get a feel for how the writing flows, the style, the tone, etc. Turns out this is a great way to get better at Spanish.

I’m subscribed to Javi Carnicero’s newsletter which has short stories and are examples of good copy. Take a look and copy this email by hand. Pay attention to these things:

• verb tenses

• nouns

• adjectives

• length of sentences
