Che! Dame los cinco - #10
Welcome to the tenth issue of the “Che! Dame los cinco” newsletter.
Che! Cómo andas?
Welcome to the lastest issue of the “Che! Dame los cinco” newsletter.
For the new folks joining us, I send these 5 things for you every Monday morning:
a new word
a piece about Argentinian culture
a new expression
a piece of content I recommend
an exercise for improving your Spanish
📖 Palabra - pelela
This one is kinda funny. It means potty and I learned it when we bought our daughter a potty for potty-training 😂
Siempre tiene la pelela abajo de la cuna.
🧉 Cultura - alfajores
Oh man, these are to DIE for. They're a dessert-type cookie that have dulce de leche and they are SO good. If you can find some in your city, you HAVE to try them.
Trust me. Get Havana or Terrabussi. Those are the best brands.

🗨️ Expresión - haceme el aguante
I first heard this used on Twitter when I tagged a Star Wars YouTuber thanking him for the debate. It basically makes to support you.
Gracias por estar ahí haciendo el aguante
Haceme aguante con diez pesos que voy a comprar unas facturas

Contenido - Cocineros Argentinos
This is a national program that uploads videos very very often. It's a great type of show to throw on in the background when you're cooking.
And you'll learn more about Argentine cuisine. Win-win!
💪🏼 Ejercicio - Learn the lyrics to a song
My daughter has started talking a LOT more so I decided, let's learn a song in Spanish together.
A while back, a friend recommended Lu Li Pampín who makes content for kids. We started singing Camino por la Selva and Congelado and I actually think it's helped me speak faster. No joke.
So find some music, learn the lyrics and tell me if the same thing happens to you?
Thanks for reading! Espero que disfrutes la semana 😄
Abrazo de tu amigo,
- Joe
